Following the All India Trinamool Congress's (TMC) entrance into Meghalaya last November, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), led by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, is preparing to enter the state.

With the Meghalaya Assembly elections approaching in less than a year, sources from AAP informed EastMojo that the party is making progress before then.

Senior party officials' visit to Shillong is to observe the situation, according to a source.

At the moment, the AAP is campaigning in Assam.

“We are now open. We're attempting to figure out the political environment in Meghalaya. We'll meet with our local supporters and volunteers. We'll attempt to evaluate the strength and drawbacks, and make decisions as needed. But we will most certainly succeed in the next elections,” according to the source.

According to the source, the AAP has a large number of followers in each district of Meghalaya.

Over the last few months, the Aam Aadmi Party has slowly but steadily made its presence felt in the Northeast. It won a number of seats in Assam's municipal elections and is also contesting Guwahati Municipal Corporation polls.
