Baghmara Wolf Sanctuary

Baghmara Wolf Sanctuary is situated in the South Garo Hills district of Meghalaya and covers an area of about 300 hectares with a thick forest cover. It was set up primarily to provide shelter to the Indian wolves that were hunted by tribes for black magic. Today, it is home to a large number of Indian wolves and is an ideal place to spot them

The best time to visit Baghmara Wolf Sanctuary is between October and February when you can see several species in one day. You can explore the sanctuary by jeep or on foot as guided tours are available.
