Members of FASTOM went to the Main Secretariat in Shillong on Monday at 11 a.m. to meet with Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma to learn more about their demands.

The chairperson of FASTOM, Mayborn Lyngdoh, said they had requested an appointment with the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) on May 1 but have yet to be given one.

Lyngdoh explained that they had attempted to meet Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on the day that Mr John Abraham visited him at his office, but was not able to do so. "I received a letter from the Federation, and they've called my office numerous times," he stated. "We heard nothing back," said FASTOM's spokesperson.

If the CM fails to satisfy them on Monday, January 11, they will stage another demonstration on May 12.

“We have made a decision to stage an indefinite sit-in, in which no one will leave until our demands are met,” he said.

“We will attempt to maintain the sit-in near the Main Secretariat, but we will not resist if we are not allowed,” he continued.
