The Finance Ministry created the GoM to study the GST rates for online gaming, casinos, and racecourses. It will take into account previous legal and court rulings on comparable issues.

The GoM has reached an agreement on the rates at which racecourses, online gaming, and casinos, will be taxed in Meghalaya. The group's members were able to make substantial progress on issues such as GST tax rates, valuation on which the rate should be applied, and certain issues of online gaming.

The meeting took place in New Delhi on Monday. The next gathering will be held during May, on the second week.

"We've made good progress on issues including interest rates, taxations, valuation at which the rate should be applied, and a number of other online gaming concerns," Sangma said. "There are some technical details that still need to be addressed," he added.
