Culture of Arunachal Pradesh

The major tribes living here are Apatanis, Aka, Adi, Galo, Nyishi and Mishmi. Their costumes and handicrafts reflect their particular tribe's traditions and tastes. However, one can find a general similarity between the various costumes as well. Most of the clothes worn here are made out of cotton or wool according to the season. There are also many celebrations and festivals that take place here

Arunachal Pradesh is home to some of the world's most exotic tribes, including the Adi, Apatani, Nyishi, Tagin etc. Like most North-Eastern states Arunachal has its unique tradition of weaving. This is particularly true of the Nyishis, who consider themselves to be the weavers of Asia. They make beautiful shawls and carpets with fine designs and wonderful colours. These rugs are popular all over the world and fetch a good price.

The people here love festivals and celebrations. There is no dearth for entertainment; they arrange for dances and songs and there is food, fun and frolic. These festivals add colour to their lives.
